Michael Elyanow is the author of more than two dozen plays and screenplays. Plays include: The Idiot Box, which received its World Premiere production by Naked Eye Theatre Company in 2003 at Chicago's Theatre Building, under the direction of Jeremy B. Cohen, who also directed its second production at LA's Open Fist Theatre in 2007. Banging Ann Coulter is published by Playscripts, Inc., in the anthology Great Short Comedies, Volume 3 and was produced at Miami's City Theatre in 2010. It was a finalist for the 2004 Humana Festival's Heideman Award. Game/Over was produced at The Source Festival in DC in 2009 and was a finalist for the 2008 Heideman Award. Play workshops and readings include: A Lasting Mark, which was selected as part of Manhattan Theatre Club's 7 @ 7 Readings Series in 2011 -- and was originally commissioned by and workshopped at Hartford Stage Company in 2009. Robyn Is Happy was workshopped in 2010 at Hartford Stage Company's Brand: NEW Festival of Plays. More HSC workshops include Lullaby, 12 Volt Heart and The Children. Lullaby also received readings and workshops at The Lark Play Development Center (2010), Boston's Lyric Stage (2009) and LA's Blank Theatre (2007). 12 Volt Heart, co-written with Mr. Cohen, was the recipient of a Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts grant and was performed at Northwestern University's Struble Theatre. Mr. Elyanow has taught screenwriting, TV Writing and Playwriting at Northwestern University as well as Emerson and Hampshire Colleges.
