Matthew R. Wilson
Matthew R. Wilson is a two-time Helen Hayes Award winner and seven-time nominee as a playwright, director (SDC), actor (AEA, SAG-AFTRA), and fight director (SAFD). One of America's leading experts in Commedia dell'Arte, Wilson taught in Italy for six years at Antonio Fava's Stage Internazionale and has performed his The Great One-Man Commedia Epic around the world. He is a contributor to The Routledge Companion to Commedia dell'Arte and author of the forth-coming book Commedia dell'Arte in History & Performance. He serves as Associate Professor of Theatre at The George Washington University and holds a BA from Columbia University, MFA from the Academy for Classical Acting, and PhD in Theatre & Performance Studies from the University of Maryland.
