Biography

Jonathan Josephson. Many of Mr. Josephson's full-length and one-act plays have produced at theatres across the country including 27 Ways I Didn't Say "Hi" to Laurence Fishburne at the Tony-winning Actors Theatre of Louisville (2013 Humana Festival of New American Plays) and Milwaukee Rep (Rep Lab 2014), The Giant and the Pixie at the Ovation Award-winning Chance Theater (Anaheim, CA), and 30K Arabian Nights at San Jose Rep (SJREAL late-night series). In addition, Mr. Josephson's plays have received staged readings at Seattle Repertory Theatre (via the Northwest Playwright's Alliance), Remy Bumppo Theatre Company (Chicago, IL) and many others. Mr. Josephson is a four-time finalist for Actors Theatre of Louisville's Heideman Award which is given annually to the best 10-minute play in the country and he has also been named as a Finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference. Mr. Josephson is also the Executive Director of Unbound Productions and one of the founders of Wicked Lit and History Lit (unboundproductions.org). For Unbound, Mr. Josephson has adapted Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Mark Twain's A Ghost Story, Charles Dickens' The Chimes, M.R. James' Count Magnus, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The New Catacomb, and Katherine Mansfield's The Garden Party. These short plays have been produced at schools, theatres, museums, historic mansions, hotels and mausoleums throughout Southern California as well as in Nebraska, Maryland, Cameroon and Scotland. Mr. Josephson holds a B.A. in Theatre: Playwriting from the University of California, San Diego.
