An Actor’s New Year’s Resolutions

The new year is the perfect time to take stock of your life and set some goals for the future. If you’re an actor, you’re always working on your craft, and you’re probably looking for some areas to focus on this year. You’re in luck, because here’s your list of ten New Year’s resolutions (but there’re three you should probably skip):

1. Warm up before rehearsal

2. Be early to all calls

3. Get off book ASAP

4. Drill blocking

5. Take notes graciously

6. Learn from your fellow actors

7. Watch others rehearse

8. Listen to your director

9. If you flub a line, keep going

10. Get wild at the cast party*

11. Be too loud in public*

12. Always be “on”*

13. Remember that doing theater is the best!

*Maybe you shouldn’t bother with these ones
