Biography

Ken Womble is a teacher, writer, director and actor. He has appeared in two Off-Broadway premieres, in independent films and in four recurring roles on daytime dramas (mainly playing bad guys). Directing credits include Split at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and Welcome to the Moon at the American Renegade Theatre in Los Angeles, plus over 50 more productions. For television he directed the hilarious (though seldom seen) sitcom pilot Under the Desk. Mr. Womble wrote and directed a documentary film, Wally Huntoon, A Life By Design and plans to direct his first feature film soon. His adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream has received over 30 productions nationally to date.

Mr. Womble holds an M.F.A. in Theatre from Southern Methodist University, and trained with Shakespeare & Company and with master acting teachers Michael Howard and Warren Robertson. Mr. Womble's first love is teaching. For seven years he was Director of Performing Arts at St. Margaret's Episcopal School in southern California, where both of his adaptations premiered. He is now happy to be an assistant professor of Theatre at the University of Northern Colorado.
