Published Reviews

"Gretty Myers is the riveting focus at the compassionate heart and thoughtful soul of Belluso's gripping Gretty Good Time... Belluso's talent for caustic humor and satire mingles in these scenes with his keen sense of the wellsprings of guilt and regret... As a character, Gretty may not be easy to take, but as created by Belluso...she is fascinating, thought-provoking company."

Lawrence Van Gelder, New York Times

"...Gretty is a vividly drawn character, a witty sourpuss who makes a sardonic case for the right of an individual to end his or her life."

Bill Marx, The Boston Globe

"...a sterling play."

Johnette Rodriguez, Providence Phoenix

"This play is so filled with life, so startled with imagination..."

William K. Gale, Providence Journal

"In its themes of death and illness, Gretty shares some territory with Margaret Edson's Wit. But sharp as Edson's work is, Belluso's textured drama is in some respects the more complex piece... Belluso is a good writer. His language is intelligent without being arch or overly clever."

Robert Simonson, Time Out New York
