  • Al Sjoerdsma is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he won a Hopwood Award for drama. He has been playwright-in-residence at the Canterbury Stage Company and the Performance Network, both of Ann Arbor, Michigan. His work has been presented in theaters and universities around the country, most recently at the Vital Theatre in New York, and including the Producer's Club in New York, the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles, City Theatre in Miami, Milwaukee Rep, Cleveland Public Theatre, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, the Vortex Theatre in Albuquerque, Northern Kentucky University, Keene State College in New Hampshire, and elsewhere. His award-winning play The 82nd Shepherds' Play was published in the anthology Incisions from Doubleday. Mr. Sjoerdsma is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

    A nervous truck driver named Bob and a saintly world leader named Mohandas Gandhi spend a quiet morning fishing together. Bob suspects his wife of infidelity, and Gandhi offers him some hard-won advice on love and non-violence.
